WHANGAMATA RIDGES MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK

Whangamatā MTB  park is located 4km north of Whangamatā in a commercial logging forest.  The park has single track trails for all levels of riders from grade 2- 5 single track trails, ideal for families or advanced riders looking for a challenge.

Due to logging operations in the area, we are working closely with forestry operations to ensure everyone's safety. This means access to the park is restricted and at times entry to some trails is forbidden. Check in store for updates.

WHANGAMATA BEACH FAMILY CIRCUT

Family friendly circut that weaves through the outskirts of Whangamatā past the harbour, through parks and the sand dunes via the road, footpaths and man made trails on the beach front.

PENINSULAR RD LOOKOUT

Peninsular road lookout ride is a 30km return ride from Whangamatā with a combination of tar sealed and gravel roads. If you are looking for a shorter ride or are not comfortable riding on the highway, you can transport your bikes and begin your ride at the turn off to Peninsula road.

This is a great ride to do when Whangamatā Ridges MTB Park access is prohibited due to logging.

HAURAKI RAIL TRAIL

A 30km drive from Whangamatā to Waihi and you will be able to access the Hauraki Rail Trails. The scenic trails wind their way through some of New Zealands best scenery  and are made up of 5 sections over 160km of easy grade one trails.

Section A:Pūkorokoro-Miranda to Thames 55km

Section B: Thames to Paeroa - 34 kms

Section C: Paeroa to Waihi - 24 kms

Section D: Paeroa to Te Aroha - 23 kms
Section E: Te Aroha to Matamata - 37 kms
